I am finding myself in an early holiday season running slump. So, I am putting my running goal out here in the ether of cyberspace. If I post it on my blog, maybe I'll have better luck hauling myself out of bed to run in the mornings. ( I guess three weeks of really nasty upper respiratory infections don't help.) So....I am shooting for "London's Run" on the last day of January 2009, just the 10K, not the half marathon (yet). So, sisters, cousins and friends, I expect you to hold me to it and give me plenty of grief if I come up with lame excuses. There, I've done it. Now I better go to bed so that I can get up when the alarm goes off. "Dream bum" here I come! (My Beehive advisor had a picture of a really nice backside that she'd cut from a magazine and hung up inside her pantry door for motivation--she called it her dream bum.)

That is a great idea, I need a dream bum! Where exactly do you find one... Maxim? Or maybe Cosmo? hmm, neither sound quite like you. Have you found one yet?
That is a great goal! Once you do that then you can run the Canyonlands half in Moab with me in March! You know you want to! :)
Did you print out a running plan or do you have one taht you always do of your own?? I always print one from runners world and then cross off each day that I follow the workout........works for me!! Cheryl thank you so much for your kind post, I don't know that I believe all the compliments in there, truthfully I may have fooled you!! I am sad that you are not in my relief society with your funny comments, I'll never forget the very first Sunday that I saw you in relief society and you raised your hand and said something about things that "drive you to drink" I knew right away you were someone I HAD to know!! I wish I would have gotten to know you better!! I can't wait to peek in on your family, especially Jillian, Please thank your husband for all of his hard work in the bishopric and congrats on your new calling!!! Upsons
Maybe I need a "dream bum" poster to get me moving, too!! :D Thanks for your sweet post!! I really miss you too! I still call AZ home :D Gettysburg WAS amazing! I can't wait to go back--there is a special feeling there. AND tomorrow is library day...I can't wait to get reading! :D
Dream bum! That just made my day-- I love that idea! Haha
Plato said, "Conquer thyself. To be conquered by thyself is above all things most shameful and vile." That is the mantra I use to get myself out of bed in the mornings to run. You can totally do this!
Just so you know...Ian's only goal in doing the London's Run is to beat you...a feat he is not so confident he can accomplish...
Go, Cheryl! I'm not quite that motivated (what with the marathon you're planning and all--way to go), but I've started running again, too. It is great!
